General Education Outcomes
Use General Education Outcomes to present foundational academic and life-long learning skills, knowledge and perspectives pertaining to a degree, discipline or program. General education outcomes are entered and approved in the Organization module in WIDS. They are often assigned by the parent program. If the parent program has assigned general education outcomes to this course, they will appear here. You will not be able to remove or edit them. You will need to go to the program to do so.
Select Related Outcomes from the left navigation column of Designer to view or add general education outcomes.
- To add a general education outcome not assigned by the parent program, click the + sign above the general education outcomes grid.
- WIDS opens a panel with the general education outcomes available to link. Select the general education outcomes you want to associate by clicking in the box.
- Remove general education outcomes you do not want linked by clicking the trash can icon at the end of the grid row.

- To reorder general education outcomes, click on the grab dots on the far left of the row. Drag the row up or down.

Tip: You cannot remove general education outcomes assigned by the parent program. You will need to go to the program to do so. You cannot edit the general education outcome statements at the course level. You must go to the Organization module to do so.
