Course Information Export
WIDS prepares a Comma Separated Values (CSV) file of commonly exported course information. This file can be used to import WIDS data to another software or use in software integration.
Generate an Export
- The screen opens in Edit mode.
- Choose an active date from the calendar (only active courses on or before the date selected will appear in the report). Select Generate Report.
- WIDS generates a CSV report and saves it to your computer.
- A CSV report can be opened in spreadsheet software if desired. Note for most imports, you will need to save the report with the extension .csv.
CSV Report
The CSV report includes the following headers for information:
- Prefix: The first three characters in the Course Number field.
- Suffix: The last three characters in the Course Number field
- Course Number: The data in the Course Number field.
- Course Title: The data in the Course Title field.
- Credit Hours: The data in the Total Credits field.
- Types of Instruction: The data in the Types of Instruction fields.
- Course Description: The data in the Course Description field.
- Prerequisite/Corequisite: The data in the Pre/Corequisite fields.
- General Education Outcomes: The General Education Outcomes linked to the course.
- Core Abilities: The Core Abilities linked to the course.
- Parent Program: The parent program for the course. If the course is not a child of a program, it will be blank.
Importing the Data
Each software will require different steps for uploading the data from the exported file to the receiving software.
