    Enter Performance Standards

    Performance Standards (Assessment Strategies and Criteria)
    Performance standards consist of both assessment strategies and criteria.  They help define the skill identified in the competency and clarify required levels of performance.  The assessment strategy identifies the strategies that will be used to assess student performance.  The criteria specify how the performance will be evaluated.

    Select Course Competencies from the left navigation column of Designer.  

    Select a competency for performance standard development. Click the > symbol to expand the competency. 

     Assessment Strategies

    • Click the + sign above the Assessment Strategy grid.  WIDS opens the panel for editing with two ways to enter assessment strategies.

    Add Strategy

    • WIDS presents a drop list of assessment strategy options.  Select one from the list enter your own in the textbox. 
    • Click Add. 

    Import from Text

    • Add multiple assessment strategies at once by adding them to the textbox placing a hard return at the end of each one.  
    • Select Process Text and then deselect items you do not want to add to your list.  
    • Click Add.  All of the items will be added.

    Criteria

    • Click the + sign above the Criteria grid.  WIDS opens the panel for editing with several ways to enter criteria.

    Add Text

    • Type a single criterion in the textbox.
    • Click Add.

    Import from Text

    • Add multiple criteria at once by adding them to the textbox placing a hard return at the end of each one.  
    • Select Process Text and then deselect items you do not want to add to your list.  
    • Click Add.  All of the items will be added.

    Import from Bank

    • Copy criteria from competencies in another course in WIDS by entering the course number or title and selecting Search. 
    • WIDS presents a list of courses.  Select the course you want to copy from by clicking on the title.  
    • WIDS presents the competencies in that course.  Use the > symbol to expand the competencies and view criteria.
    • Select items you want to add to your list.  
    • Click Add.  All of the items will be added.

    Import from Library

    WIDS provides three libraries with predesigned criteria for reuse or edit in your course: PAT (Performance Assessment Tasks), Employability Skills and Academic Skills.

    • Select the library for import.  WIDS presents the library options.  Use the > symbol to expand the statement and view criteria. 
    • Check the criteria you want to add to your course.  
    • Click Add.
    • WIDS adds the information to your course.  Edit the information as desired.

    Reorder Items in the Assessment Strategies and Criteria Grids

    To reorder items in the list, click on the grab dots on the far left of the row.  Drag the row up or down.
