Welcome to WIDS! We are happy to have you on board.
Single User Subscription
A WIDS Single User Subscription is for a single user to create and edit courses.
- You can create and edit up to 20 courses in WIDS.
- You cannot create or edit programs or pathways. You must have a Team license for that.
WIDS Help Available
WIDS Software Help is available from any screen in WIDS. Select the question icon on the home page or WIDS Curriculum Help from any other screen. (Look on the top left of the screen.)
Need assistance in getting started with WIDS? Contact us at info@wids.org. We would be happy to assist you.

Create a Course
The WIDS home page contains two sections:
- My Syllabi: Any syllabi you create will appear here.
- My Curriculum Projects: Any courses you create will appear here.
To create a course:
- Click the Add New button. WIDS presents a droplist of project types. Select Course.
- WIDS opens a dialogue box where you can enter the course name and number. Note that you can change these later if needed.
- Select a Subunit from the droplist. WIDS will have a subunit created for you so select your name or organization from the droplist.
- WIDS opens to the course Designer. You can begin designing your course.
Note:
- You must create and approve your course before you can create a syllabus.
- You should create competencies before you design Learning Plans and Performance Assessment Tasks.
External Standards
You can link your course to external standards. External standards cover a range of efforts by professional organizations, state agencies, and school districts to define requirements for what must be taught in a program or qualifications for entry into a career field. Not every curriculum project has related standards.
WIDS includes some standard sets by default. If you need a set of standards added for linking to your project, contact info@wids.org.
