Customized Lookups
WIDS allows you to customized the dropdown lists in the software from this screen.

From the home page select Site Administration.  Select the Site Configuration tab and Manage Lookups screen.

Types of Lookups in WIDS

Lookups create dropdown lists in the software.   WIDS offers two different types of lookups: forced choice and open entry.

Forced Choice: Some dropdown lists offer forced selection options that are set at the site level. Users may select one of the site options or elect to leave a dropdown field blank, but they cannot key in other content. The dropdowns are intended to provide consistent data for elements that an organization would want to standardize because they are used for data collection/analysis or because they represent a specific model or taxonomy. Examples include learning cycle, linked outcome qualifiers, and domain/level.

Open Entry:  Some dropdown lists offer a selection of options to choose from and the ability to enter alternative text.  The dropdowns help Developers understand what information is being requested in the field and offer suggestions.

How to Manage Lookups

  • Click Edit next to a field value to change the field.
  • Click Delete to remove the field from the droplist.
