Feature Note
This feature is only available to Wisconsin Technical College System colleges.

Located in the Site area under the Manage Projects tab, Import Projects screen facilitates the import of WTCS Repository projects directly to a college’s WIDS site.

Import Information

Colleges can import curriculum in complete, aligned packages.   Import options include: complete program packages with program information, child courses and program/course links; program without child courses; and individual courses.

Imported courses and programs are linked to the original project in the WTCS Repository.  When an update to the original project is published by the WTCS, colleges have the option to select the project updates from the Import Projects screen.

College site administrators are notified when new project imports and updates are available from the WTCS Repository via email and a WIDS notification.

Colleges have control over if and when published project imports/updates become active in their sites.  An effective date is established by the college for each project import and update selected.

Import a New Project or Project Update

Tip:   Programs and child courses that are imported together include linked program outcomes and external standards (if applicable).  Individual courses do not have links.

TSA
Looking to import at TSA?  Search for the program and import it.  The WTCS TSA imports as program outcomes with criteria and a program Performance Assessment Task (the scoring guide).
  1. Search for a project to import.
    1. Choose between two search screen options:  Programs/Programs and Child Courses or Individual Courses.
  2. In edit mode, click Import or Update.
    1. The first time you import a project the only option available to you will be Import.
    2. Once the project is on your site, WIDS provides the opportunity for you to Update the project.
    3. You can also update projects if you have made changes to the project on the college side and want to return to the WTCS version.
  3. WIDS opens a dialogue box where you will identify a subunit for the project, choose program child courses if available (in program view) and set a “go live” effective date.
    1. WIDS suggests importing a project using a Future active date.  This will give you time to ensure the project is ready for use.
  4.  Project imports and updates arrive in your WIDS site in moments!
